It was in early 1954 when Turhan Cemal Beriker, former three-term mayor and later member of the parliament from Adana, Turkey’s fourth largest city, built in the times of the Roman Empire on the Mediterranean, founded Kiltoprak Co Ltd as a modern factory for the manufacturing of building materials and roofing tiles whose products later went on to include a multitude of earthenware.
Kiltoprak translates into ClayEarth, the two natural compounds that form earthenware for thousands of years.
The company, then operated by his two sons, changed hands and its name in 1981. The synonymous grandson of Kiltoprak’s original founder, Turhan Cemal Beriker, who for 20 years was a banking executive at a reputable international banking firm with its head office in Amsterdam, chose the Kiltoprak name for his newly established corporate finance advisory business in 2011.
In the last 12 years of his tenure, Turhan Cemal Beriker served as the CEO with board memberships in subsidiary banks in Switzerland, Romania and the CIS.
The Kiltoprak of today is a brand and subsidiary of Bericorp Financial Services Group NV, headquartered in Amsterdam and acts as a corporate finance, corporate services and trust house.
